Some common symptoms are:
- Frequent or troubled urination
- Urge to urinate frequently at night
- Blood in urine or semen
- Weak or interrupted urine flow
- Burning sensation or pain during urination or ejaculation
- New onset of erectile dysfunction
- Losing weight without trying or unexplained weight loss
- Bone pain or tenderness
In advanced stage of prostate cancer, some other symptoms could be: pain in hip or back, soreness in groin, swelling or weakness in legs, losing of bowel control, coughing or feeling out of breath,
Prostate Cancer Treatment Types
Prostate Cancer can be treated by various methods: surgery, radiation therapy, brachytherapy, Intensity-modulated radiation therapy (IMRT), proton therapy, focal therapies, systemic treatments, hormonal therapy, targeted therapy, chemotherapy, immunotherapy, radiation therapy by infusion, bone-modifying drugs, and more.
Factors that decide type of treatment are: stage of cancer, age of patient, quality of life, health history, whether cancer has spread to bones, rapidly rising PSA, other medical conditions.
